My name is Viveka Thakker and I am driven by creating interactive experiences of social and ethical awareness.
This is the conclusion of a lifelong creative journey begun in a childhood filled with watercolors, embroideries and papier maché dinosaurs. Enchanted by the symmetry and logic of mathematics as well as the expressive freedom of arts during my schooling years, I aspired to join the two in the role of an Industrial Designer and went on to study a BSc in Engineering specializing in product design.
Graduating with strong drawing and visualizing skills but too creative to settle in at an engineering company, I happily joined Stockholmsmässan in 2006 and was introduced to experiential branding, creating and managing inspirational spatial designs from concept to finished build.
Coming to London in 2010 pursuing an MA in Interior Design to challenge and focus myself as a designer, my passion for creating engaging spatial experiences for the public was defined through the development of my most successful research projects focusing on human interaction with each other and their environment.
After a break of traveling to Chile & India I found myself back in London, soon joining an events team preparing the city to host the 2012 Olympics. Looking to go deeper into detail working with commercial spaces, I was introduced to the retail world as I started working with Molton Brown in 2013 in a small creative team learning everything about designing and opening stores.
In 2015, I saw an opportunity to move back to Stockholm and join long-time favourite Swedish fashion brand Monki where I am still working, diving into a magical imaginative world and developing an ever evolving interior concept.
