Monki is a purpose driven brand that aims to empower young women to empower the world. Monkis store concept vision is to co-create circular, value driven store formats that builds strong relations with our community in environments exploring the imaginative Monkiworld. Shared projects are developed together with my team, selected images highlighting my focus areas.
To create a stronger presence on the street, we painted the facade in a bright purple, opened up the window and added new signage with animated RGB LED. Just inside the doors to the left is a custom DNA print created by one of our very own graphic designers at Monki.
We removed the fitting rooms and cash point on the GF and opened up the back of the store to create a Kaleido room with swings for our customers to hang out and create social content. With curtains along one of the walls that can also extend into the opening, the room can also be used for bigger of groups of friends trying on clothes and shopping together.
To keep waste and investment levels low, we mixed reuse and new interior. One example is the mirror panels along the walls on both floors that are clad in a new pink dot wave vinyl to match the new colour scheme and the disco balls in the Kaleido room from a UK closure. We also tested 2 new linoleum floors and retained the mirror ceiling tiles on FF.
Rebuild opened in London, March 2023.
